Gretchen Kerr

 

 

Gretchen Kerr is the Director of Life Crossroads a ministry of Northland, A Church Distributed in Longwood, Florida where Dr. Joel Hunter is the senior pastor.   As Director, she oversees the Prison and Jail Transition, Disaster Response ministry and ResourcePoint, a community wide web based data collection and case management tool.  She is also the President and CEO of ConnectCity a community collaborative 501-C3 focused on serving the often overlooked population of our communities by matching needs with resources.  Gretchen pursues the goals of Northland Church and ConnectCity through collaboration and strategic partnerships throughout the Central Florida area and provides leadership and training opportunities to those interested in serving formerly incarcerated men and women returning to their communities as leaders and not former inmates. Gretchen has been involved in collaboration between the faith community, government and non profits for more than fifteen years.  She has mentored men and women in jail, taught addiction and Christian 12 step classes and been a connector to service providers for the inmates.   Gretchen founded and is the executive director of a faith-based reentry program, has presented workshops and trainings for volunteers interested in jail ministry and has a heart for those who have been incarcerated.  She also established a transitional house for men based on the Dunklin Memorial model in partnership with Breaking Free, Inc.  The men’s facility is known as Breaking Free Orlando.  Gretchen holds as BS in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, a Masters in Non-profit management from the University of Central Florida and is currently working on her Doctorate in Ministry from Bakke graduate University.
